Featuring Temple artist Becky Wareing Steele and Engineer Andrew Novick of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Join us for a one-night discussion with our speakers, who will share their professional practices as they pertain to time. Artist Becky Wareing Steele will discuss her art and how her menstrual cycle informs her artistic practice as outlined in the book Optimized Woman: Using Your Menstrual Cycle to Achieve Success and Fulfillment by Miranda Gray. As a complement to Wareing Steele's biology-based timeframes, Andrew Novick will present about the accuracy and uncertainties of atomic clocks and the surprisingly esoteric world of international timekeeping.
All talks are free and open to the public.
