Amethyst is a violet quartz variety that got its name from the Koine Greek word "amethystos," meaning "not intoxicated," reflecting the belief in its power to protect against drunkenness. In ancient times, Greeks wore amethyst and crafted drinking vessels from it with the belief that it could prevent intoxication.

This piece of amethyst is mounted to a black, metal stand and is home to a hand-painted 1:160 scale figure, so no two works are alike.
